   施一公,教授,结构生物学家。本科毕业于清华大学生物科学与技术系,博士毕业于约翰·霍普金斯大学医学院,曾担任普林斯顿大学分子生物学系终身教授,Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis讲席教授。2008年回国后担任清华大学生命科学学院院长,2015年升任副校长。2013年他先后分别当选为美国艺术与科学学院院士、美国国家科学院外籍院士、中国科学院院士。2018年施一公教授离开清华大学,开始筹建西湖大学,并担任西湖大学第一任校长。


   施一公教授主要从事细胞凋亡及膜蛋白两个领域的研究,在SmadTGF-的调控机理、磷酸酶PP2A的结构生物学方面做出了具有国际影响的工作。迄今为止,他在国际权威学术杂志发表学术论文百余篇,其中以第一作者或通讯作者在cell发表18篇、nature发表24篇、science发表15篇,这些工作系统地揭示了哺乳动物、果蝇和线虫中细胞凋亡通路的分子机理,已有若干研究成果申请专利,用于治疗癌症的药物研发。

   Shi, Yigong, professor, structural biologist. He received his bachelor's degree from Tsinghua University and PhD degree in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University. He was the full professor and Warner-Lambert/Parke-Davis Professor in the department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University. In 2008, he came back and pursued his career at Tsinghua University, becoming the dean of the School of Life Sciences there and later in 2015 appointed the vice-president of Tsinghua university. In 2013, Shi was elected as academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, foreign academician of the American Academy of Sciences, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. In 2018, Shi left Tsinghua university and dedicated himself to the establishment of Xihu University, being the first president of it.

Shi studied the molecular mechanisms that govern the awakening of apoptotic enzymes in worms, fruit flies, and mammals, seeking to illuminate function by revealing their structures. He and his laboratory have solved the structures of more than 40 proteins and protein complexes. To date Shi has published more than one hundred of papers on international academic journals, including 18 on Cell, 24 on Nature, 15 on Science, which elucidated the structure and interaction mechanism of proteins involved in cell apoptosis pathway. Many of his achievements have been protected by patents, used for the research and development of drugs in the treatment of cancers.
